What does a master colorist do differently?
A good colorist does more than pick a number from a shade chart. Esther listens first. She asks what you love about your hair, what bothers you, and how much upkeep you want. Then she looks at your skin tone, your eye color and the hair you have today, including any color already in it.
Every formula is mixed for one person. Two women who both ask for "warm brown" may leave with different shades, because what flatters one face can look flat on another. Esther has 35 years behind the chair, in Greenwich, Connecticut and Palm Beach, Florida. She trained with Vidal Sassoon and Paul Mitchell and has been licensed since 1995, in several states.
She finishes color with a glaze for mirror shine, so hair leaves polished and glossy, not just even in tone.
Which hair color service is right for you?
Most people come in with a goal, not a service name. Each page below explains one option in plain words:
- Highlights and lowlights, full or partial
- Balayage, hand-painted color that grows out softly
- Blonde color, from honey and butter to champagne
- Brunette color, glossy browns with caramel or copper ribbons
- Gray coverage or gray blending, whichever you prefer
- Corrective color when a past color went wrong
- Gloss, glaze and toner for shine and fresh tone
- L'Oréal INOA ammonia-free color, gentle color with a natural shine

How much does hair color cost in Palm Beach?
Esther's 2026 color menu is short and clear. A "+" means "and up." Long, thick or previously colored hair can take more time and product, so the free consultation is where you get the exact quote, before anything is mixed.

Single process, double process or INOA: what is the difference?
Single process means one color formula. It is often used to cover gray, deepen or warm your shade, or refresh your roots. Double process takes two steps: first the hair is lightened, then a toner or color sets the final shade. It is a common route to a bright, even blonde.
L'Oréal INOA is ammonia-free color. There is no ammonia smell, it feels gentle, and it helps keep the integrity and health of your hair. It gives a natural shine and rich coverage, including gray. Your consultation decides which service fits your hair and your goal.
Why do so many clients ask for color first, then highlights?
It is her clients' favorite combination, and it is easy to see why. The all-over color evens out your base and takes care of gray. Then highlights add brightness and dimension where light naturally falls, around the face and along the part. The root looks rich, the surface looks sunny, and nothing looks flat.
Esther plans both steps together, so the base and the highlights suit each other, and you.
What happens at your first color appointment?
It starts with a conversation. Bring photos of colors you like and colors you don't. Tell Esther about box color, past lightening, keratin treatments or anything else your hair has been through, because that history changes how new color behaves.
After the consultation, Esther mixes your shade, applies it and finishes with a glaze for shine. If your goal needs more than one visit, she will say so up front. To get started, text Esther at 561-631-6462 for a free consultation; she replies promptly.
