What happens during a haircut with Esther?
Esther takes her time. Before she picks up the scissors, she asks how you wear your hair on a normal day, how long you spend styling it and what you dislike about your current cut. Then she explains what she would do and why, and you agree on the plan together.
She trained with Vidal Sassoon and Paul Mitchell and has 35 years behind the chair, in Greenwich, Connecticut and Palm Beach, Florida. A good cut should still sit well as it grows, not only on the day you leave the salon.
“Best designer ever! Meticulously attentive to every detail. I would literally travel cross country to have Esther create my look.”

Which haircut suits my face shape?
Face shape is a guide, not a rule. Soft, face-framing layers draw attention to the eyes and cheekbones. A bob that ends near the jaw can add width to a long, narrow face. Longer lengths with movement around the face can soften a strong jawline, and a side part or side-swept fringe can soften a round or square face.
A stylist should also look at your neck, your shoulders, your glasses if you wear them and how you hold your head. For more ideas, read about choosing a haircut for your face shape.
Layers, a bob or one length: what works for my texture?
Texture often matters more than face shape. A few general guides:
- Fine or thin-looking hair: blunt or lightly layered ends keep hair looking full. Too many layers can make it look thinner. See haircuts for fine hair.
- Thick hair: layers cut inside the shape remove bulk, so the cut sits close and swings without looking choppy.
- Wavy or curly hair: a curl-aware cut allows for how each section springs up as it dries.
- Straight hair: clean lines and sharp bobs look polished, and soft long layers add movement.
- Hair that puffs up in humidity: the right weight and length help the cut keep its shape on sticky days.
How much does a women's haircut cost with Esther?
The signature women's cut and style is $100. You leave with the new shape finished and styled. If you prefer to air-dry or style it yourself, the signature cut with no blow-dry is $70. Men are welcome too, and a gentleman's cut is $50.
Prices depend on hair length and volume, and very long or very thick hair can change the final price. The free consultation gives you the exact quote before anything starts. Text Esther at 561-631-6462 for a free consultation.
Should I get a cut and color at the same visit?
Often, yes. Esther shapes cut and color together for your hair, face and lifestyle, so each one shows off the other. Brighter pieces around the face can lift your whole look, and soft dimension can make a bob look fuller. If you want both, say so when you text so she can plan enough time. Questions clients ask
How often should I get my hair cut?
It depends on the style. Short cuts and sharp bobs lose their shape sooner than long, layered hair, so they need more frequent trims. Longer hair can usually go longer between visits. Esther will suggest a rhythm that fits your cut, your hair and your schedule.
How should I wear my hair to the appointment?
If you can, come with your hair styled the way you usually wear it. That shows how it behaves day to day, where it parts and what bothers you. Photos of cuts you love, and cuts you do not, are helpful too.
Can Esther help me grow out my hair?
Yes. Growing out a bob or short layers goes more smoothly with small, planned trims that keep the shape balanced along the way. Tell Esther the length you are aiming for and she will plan the steps with you, so it looks intentional at every stage.
Do I need a consultation before a big change?
The consultation is always free, and it is a smart step before a big change. You can talk through photos, length and upkeep with no pressure. Text Esther a photo of your hair now and a photo of the look you want, and she replies promptly.
